The New Computer Desk Instructions

May 8, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

I had to go out and buy a new computer desk, simply because my gaming computer was sitting on the dining room table, which is really inconvenient when I have guests over for dinner. Apart from the fact that I am concerned the monitor will get bumped and broken as it perches precariously on top of the computer box.

So I bit the bullet yesterday and went and brought the computer it’s own desk. My lounge room is set up as an office an already has two computers on desks, and now there is a third computer. Anyone would think I was a computer nerd.

Apart from 3 computers I also have my new Sanyo HD 1080 TV set up with a PS3, Wii and Xbox live. I love gaming and with the Sanyo I can have a number of gaming platforms set up at once and with simply the push of a button I can play whichever game I am in the mood for. Just loving this life.

Anyway back to the new computer desk. What is it with instructions these days, I ended up getting totally confused and passed the job to hubby, after all he is a carpenter and joiner. However, as all women who are married to tradesmen know, whatever he works at, you are never going to get done around the home, be he a carpenter or motor mechanic.

The desk came with the tiniest bottle of glue to use on the dowel parts,so hopefully the desk holds together. We went out and brought another bottle of PVA glue late last night so the last bits put together will hold well.

Anyway, the desk is together and the computer is set up ready for me to play the Sims, Rome or Oblivian whenever I feel like it (or get the time).

Just Got Home From the Airport

May 8, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

I have just arrived home from dropping off hubby at the airport. He is off to Brisbane.

On the way back, a rather large kangaroo decided to hop down the side of the road in line with the car. Kangaroo’s are notoriously unpredictable and I have seen the results of damage caused by these awesome creatures, so I slowed down considerably to give the animal plenty of room if it decided to change it’s course and veer out across the road.

Fortunately, the kangaroo decided to bound off back into the scrub.

Hitting one of these creatures can cause extensive damage to a car and especially with modern cars that seem to be made of tissue paper so they fold up and dent at the slightest touch.

But here I am safe and sound even though the adrenalin was racing a short time ago.

Jurgon & Stacy Get Married

May 1, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

After 10 years and nine days, our darling son Jurgon married his lovely partner Stacy on 14th April 2007.

The occassion was celebrated in the garden with friends and family and Rowena their 7 year old daughter was the flowergirl.

The best man was Michael and he and Jurgon have been friends since they were in high school, and Stacy’s 3 boys, Stephen, Eric and Robert were attendants. Stacy’s friend Lynne was her matron of honour.

Poor Stacy had been really sick for the last couple of days and had to be taken to the doctor in the morning for an injection to stop her vomiting. So she was still feeling seedy during the ceremony and did her best to put on a brave face.

The ceremony was very moving and Jurgon and Stacy wrote there own vows which added a lovely touch. All the kids ( of which there were many) were very well behaved.
