More Mothers Day Wishes

May 14, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

I received a beautiful card from my new daughter in law, Stacey and my son Jurgon and their lovely family.

The verse is very tuching and I know Stacey always spends a lot of time selecting the right card for the occasion. There was a gift voucher inside the card that I will be able to put towards another PS3 or XBox 360 game.

It’s hard when they live in another state, but I do get to catch up with them a couple of times a year. Every time I see the kids they are taller and more grown up than the last.

I will be going up to Brisbane at the end of June for my daughter Anjasa’s birthday so it will be a great opportunity to catch up with all the family once again.

Mothers Day Visit

May 13, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

My daughter Varinia and my two lovely grandaughters have just been over to visit for Mothers Day and brought me some lovely chocolates (which I am trying to give up) and the best seller “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho.

I just love the quote on inside cover “To reach one’s destiny is a person’s only obligation”.

As Varinia said “It’s not a very big book so will be ideal for taking on the plane when I fly to the USA in July.” But I have heard so much about this book that I will probably start reading it well before July.

I used to be an avid reader but my life has kind of been taken over by the internet lately. However, I have heard so much about this book so I am really looking forward to reading it.

Varinia Becomes an Australian Citizen

May 9, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

After residing in Australia for nearly 26 years and having had 5 children here in Australia, my eldest daughter finally took the plunge and became an Australia citizen tonight.

The ceremony was conducted by the Lions Club at the Southern Cross Club in Woden and
Mr Wayne Berry MLA, Speaker, Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly, delivered that address to those becoming citizens and presented them with their certificates.

Some chose to recite an affirmation and other swore an oath of allegience.

The two course dinner was very enjoyable although poor little Ce’Nedra had to wait some time for her dinner to come. The main courses were chicken in filo pastry or roast beef, both meals were served with veges, followed by caramel fruit baskets or profiteroles. Just yummy.

So Varinia is now an Australian citzen. Congratulations on joining the majority of the family.
