Grandchildren are Blessings

March 11, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

I have mentioned before that my daughter, her partner and two of her gorgeous children have moved to Canberra to live nearby.

I just love having them closeby as they used to live interstate and I hardly got to see them at all.

Ce’Nedra gave me the loveliest picture the other day as a thank you for some paints I had given her.

She is just beautiful and has settled in well at her new school. She was a bit concerned before starting school as she had come from a little county school and the one she is going to now is much much larger. But she is coping well and enjoying it.

Cedie rides her bike to school, which is something she couldn’t do when they lived in the country.
She comes up to visit often and we chat about school, her two blue tongued lizards and what she has been up to.

Demelza Discovers eBay

March 9, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

My 13 year old grandaughter, Demelza, has just discovered eBay. She wants a new cell phone.

The one she has takes videos, photos, records music and does all the things that are so important to todays teenages, but peer pressure says it’s a brick so it has to go.I was quite happy with it and it was only the fact that the mobile phone company that we are with upgraded the phones for free. So I now have a slide top thinner phone. Which I am not parting with just yet.

So Demelza has found cell phones on ebay for .99 cents. Paula and I tell her that she won’t get a new phone for that price and that if the seller does not get a reasonable bid, they simply pull the item. Still Dem is convinced she is going to pick up an absolute bargain.

Who knows she might just jag one for a reasonable price. Time will tell.

The Past Comes Back to Haunt

March 1, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

When my daughter Varinia arrived home from work last night, her partner, Shaun told her he had been surfing the net and lo and behold, he keyed in her name and up popped an old school photo.

One of the girls she had been at school with has posted the photo on the net looking for her old school friends.

I think they all look very nice in their uniforms. I do believe uniforms give children a sense of pride and belonging, plus it does away with all the rivalry over who can and can’t afford to wear brand names.

We all commented on how happy she looks, and how much Ce’Nedra ( her youngest daughter) looks like her. Cedie is 9 years old and has just started school in Canberra, as the family have just moved here from their vineyard, in Glen Aplin, Stanthorpe.

And here is the class photo. When you come to think of it,none of them look terribly happy, maybe it wasn’t acceptable to look as if you might be enjoying yourself.
