Are the Americas the Lost City of Atlantis?

May 8, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

Having always been interested in ancient history, I guess I have never really doubted that Atlantis was a Real Place. The Americas have now been sited as the location of the lost city of Atlantis.

This is an interesting concept and one I hadn’t come across before. Most stories lean towards a disaster such as a Tsunami, that resulted in the Island of Atlantis sinking beneath the sea. This of course has led to many books and movies about great wealth and underwater cities of merfolk existing in beneath the placid oceans.

In researching Plato’s writings, Dennis Brooks has drawn the conclusion that America is in fact Atlantis. Plato’s writings have been stripped back and rewritten to include updated discoveries regarding the location ot Atlantis. The new version of the story includes only those parts of Plato’s writings that refer to the actual description, location and structure of Atlantis was formed.

There is a lot of really interesting reading on Atlantis Kingdom. So if the mystery of Atlantis is something that you find fascinating then check out the website.

Press Release

Atlantis Was a Real Place, the Americas

The kingdom of Atlantis included North, South, and Central America. It was divided into ten countries or kingdoms and each country had its own King. One of the kingdoms was also called Atlantis. The King of Atlantis was the ruler over the other nine Kingdoms. The first ruler of the Kingdom was called Atlas. This is how Atlantis got its name.

The royal city of the kingdom was located within the country of Atlantis. Within the royal city there was a royal palace. Originally, three different moats surrounded the royal palace. Plato referred to the moat formation as three zones of water and two zones of land.

As time went by they covered over the moats and cut three canals through the peninsula on which the royal palace was located. The construction of the canals divided the peninsula and formed two triangular shaped islands. The island that held the royal palace was called Atlantis. That is why Atlantis is referred to as a continent, and city, and an island.

Read the short version of Plato’s story at www.atlantiskingdom.com to learn more about Atlantis and the Americas. Then read Plato’s Timaeus and Critias to get the complete story.

I have matched the terrain features that Plato wrote about with present terrain features found in the Tampa Bay area. Research shows that Plato described Harbour Island as the small island of Atlantis. You will find that Plato recorded and published the story just as it was told. He even recorded the discussions leading up to the story. You will also notice several obvious mistakes made in translating the story from Egyptian to Greek and from Greek to English. The biggest mistake occurred when travelers came upon a shoal of mud and thought it was left over from the sunken island. They were wrong. The continent of Atlantis did not sink.

You are invited to review the facts to see for yourself that the Americas, from South America to Alaska were once the kingdom of Atlantis, a single nation. The land formation is still laid out the same as it was over 11,000 years ago. It is best viewed from the air. See image.

ANZAC Day A bit of Background

April 24, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

Today is ANZAC day. This day is the most important national day of commemoration in Australia.

ANZAC Day – 25 April – marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and the soldiers in those forces became known as ANZACs.
Australians and New Zealanders celebrate this day of commenoration all around the world no matter where they are based. The memory of this day is so clearly defined in our past, our memories and our hearts.

We all know so well the sacrifice that these young men made.

Why is ANZAC day so special to Australians and New Zealanders?
Australia had only been a federal commonwealth for fourteen years when war broke out in 1914. Eager to establish a reputation in world standing, the national government sent troops to join the fray.

In 1915, soldiers from Australia and New Zealand formed part of the allied expedition that was sent over to capture the Gallipoli peninsula which would allow the allied navies entrance through the Black Sea.

The soldiers were to capture Constantinople ( now Istanbul), which was the capital of the Ottoman Empire and a close ally of Germany.

When the troops landed at Gallipoli on 25th April they met fierce resistance from the Turkish army, and the battle plan to knock Turkey quickly out of the war, became a stalemate that dragged on for eight long months.

Both sides suffered heavy casualties and endured appalling hardships. Over 8000 Australian soldiers lost their lives. The troops were evacuated at the end of 1915 and the stories from the landing at Gallipoli had such a profound impact on Australians at home and 25th April became the day on which all Australians remember the sacrifices of those involved in the war.

Although the objective was not met, the bond between our nations was strengthened as the spirit of the ANZACs lives on.
