The Sweet Smell of Success

May 15, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

I love aromatherapy. Just having the aroma of vanilla, lavender, cinnamon or lime wafting around the house is enough to relax and at the same time energize.

Like my teas which I just posted about, I also have a huge number of aromatherapy oils and of course the more I have the better. I can’t help myself. Maybe I have some sort of psychological problem with the need to buy more, I seem to have the same problem with PS3 games at the moment, but let’s not get sidetracked. Well actually I have a compulsive obsessive personality.

I store my oils in a beautiful wooden box that my sister bought for me quite a few years ago. The oils have permeated the wood so even if I never put another oil in that box ever again, the smell from the box would still be enough to fill the room with a beautiful perfume, if I left it open.

The box came from a company called Le Reve and it is specifically made to hold oils. I think at the time it came in two different sizes but my sister bought me the larger size which was good thinking on her part since I can fit quite a few oils in it.

Just this weekend Wanda and I went out to the local markets here in Tuggeranong and we bought more oils. And by the way, Wanda is far worse than me for buying oils and things. She has enough in her collection that she could start her own company. The lady at the markets is a friend of ours from work and she makes the most beautiful mixtures. I bought a vanilla oil from her and another oil she has called Guinevere’s Rose which is a blend of European baby rose. I just wish I could add the aroma to this blog post so you could all experience it.

So you might be thinking now how the title of this blog post relates to the content. Well it doesn’t really. I am trying to make it relate to the post but it just doesn’t seem to want to work that way but no matter….I am having fun and that is all that matters.

What We Are Doing Right Now.

May 14, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

Well call us nuts, but at the moment Paula and I are waiting for a hook up with the United States with Webinar, which is a new user orientation to learn how to submit press releases using PRWeb.

Considering that it is 12pm our time and the call will go until 1am, shows our dedication to our affiliate marketing.

To fill in time we have been playing the PS3 “God of War“, which is absolutely the coolest game around, and the “mutiplayer, split screen, xbox 360 game “Gears of War“, another great game.

We were in Woden today trying to find a copy of “Dragon Naturally Speaking” for when we go to the US. Unfortunately, the shops only had the standard copy available and we want the preferred edition which will allow us to record on our pc phones and transfer the information directly to our laptops.

Looks like we will need to purchase a copy online.

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER – by Erma Bombeck

May 12, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

These words were written after she found out she was dying from cancer. Her words are something we should all think about.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren’t there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the ‘good’ living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn’t show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I’d have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, “Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.” There would have been more “I love you’s” More “I’m sorry’s.”

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute…look at it and really see it .. live it and never give it back.

STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!

Don’t worry about who doesn’t like you, who has more, or who’s doing what. Instead, let’s cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. Let’s think about what God HAS blessed us with , and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, spiritually & emotionally.

I hope you have a blessed day.
