We Brought the PS3 and a Sanyo TV

March 27, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

Paula and I each have a variety of gaming platforms from the Playstation, PS2, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, Wii and now the PS3.

What a truly awesome gaming platform is the PS3! The graphics are fantastic. Granted it is a little pricey, but I believe it is well worth the money.

We each brought a PS3 from Myer. We got such a good deal with the $600 worth of vouchers when we brought the Wii from them – so we pre-ordered the PS3’s and this time we received $1200 worth of vouchers.

I was working so Paula set my machine up ready for me for after work. Believe me the day couldn’t go quick enough.

We brought ‘Resistance’ The Fall of Man, a game about mutants taking over the earth. Lots of blood and guts and gore, everything I love in a video game. Don’t get me wrong here, I also like adventure games and puzzle solving games, The game is recommended for 18 years and over.

We decided that having a high definition gaming platform with Blue Ray capability was a bit wasted on the regular tv, so on Saturday off we went to find a telly to compliment the PS3.

After shopping around for the best deal, after all we were buying 2, we settled on the Sanyo 40″, currently top of the range tv. Paula’s brother, Wal, met us at the Harvey Norman pick up depot and we loaded the tv’s onto the back of his ute. We couldn’t wait for Harvey Norman to deliver them on the Monday.

The guys at the depot had been told to expect two women, one a grandmother, who had just purchased these awesome tv’s for their gaming platforms, and they took great delight in this. After all there aren’t too many chicks who are gamers and especially older ones (me not Paula)

Honestly, the setup is fantastic. The only thing I find with digital tv is that it tends to pixilate on occassion when the tv is on, but for the game it is just fantastic.

Surround sound is the next thing required.

Workday Fun Activities

March 22, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

This week our organisation held a 2 day in office fair, which gave staff the opportunity to learn about the developments surrounding the introduction of eclaiming later this year.

The event also gave staff the chance to check out what work is being carried out in other areas to meet our corporate goals.

As part of the celebration a fashion parade was held with our lovely staff modelling the uniforms that we have all worn, loved or hated over the years. It was fun to reminisce and laugh at the evolution of our previous attire.

The models conducted themselves with absolute decorum as they graced the catwalk and there wasn’t a Naomi Campbell style hissy fit to be seen. Just shows how true professionals conduct themselves. The ladies all look very smart.

One of highlights was the exhibition of some of the young guys who really threw themselves into the spirit of the occassion and strutted their stuff on the red carpet in fine manner.

Pete (showing a mean leg) is a wrestler in his spare time and is going to Canada later this year to attend a training camp.

Check out his website at www.maineventwrestling.net
for all the news and updates in the local wrestling scene.

Allan looks a treat with the blonde wig. Who knows maybe the blonde wig with the black beard might just become next seasons fashion statement.

Leon (blue blouse) could give Angelina Jolie a run for her money. Could do with a leg wax though.

Michael Looks very smart and the most comfortable in the current uniform .

Well done boys. It takes a lot of guts to do something like this in front of all your workmates.

Although I did hear that there were complaints about sore feet after the event. Just shows the guys what we girls go through for fashion. Those high heels are a killer.

The two days were not only lots of fun but also very informative and a credit to the team who organised it all.

Here is Margaret (front) who organised the fashion parade, with her team of exquisite models.

My Mini Hothouse

March 9, 2007 //  Leave a Comment

I recently purchase a mini hothouse so that I can grow fresh herbs. I like to use fresh herbs in my cooking so thought this would be a great idea.

Unfortunately my plants don’t feel the same way. It appears that the atmosphere within the hothouse is much too high at the moment, so the parsley is droopy and dying, along with almost all the other herbs.

In fact the only plants that seems to like the heat are the curry plant, Rosemary, lemon Thyme and Sage, everything else is ready to turn up its toes.

I have started to leave the door open to encourage some cool air into the hothouse, and have taken the parsley out altogether to see if it will revive in the open air.

So much for my little foray into gardening. As you can see, I definitely do not have a green thumb.
